I have found that I have to Tivo Numb3rs and avoid the Amita episodes. I hated the Amita/Charlie detective agency from Nine Lives. I was about to call it quits.

But this episode, sans Amita was terrific. I can't believe how much I enjoy the show when she's not in it. Is it my imagination, or is Charlie much more interesting when she's not in the show. I really wish this actress would get a really great job on another show and have to leave. I have started to dislike her so much that I dislike the show because she's part of it. I don't think I want her to even going back to being decoration.

She needs to be gone.

Hey, guys, next Monday, I'm going to be having some surgery done. It's a couple of root canals and some cavities, but the root canals are in a place where I can't get numb, so I'm going to be put under for about three hours. Needless to say, this is a little unnerving, considering my last time on the surgery table was my knee operation (and for those who remember that, you remember the hell I went through afterwards.)

Anyway, the surgery is going to be on Monday at 1:00 PM CST, so just keep me in your prayers that it all works out.

First of all, with Charlie and Amita on a road trip was just nauseating, and it seemed like Charlie was drunk while talking with Alan (though, it seems that to BE with Amita, one might HAVE to be drunk; same principle with Millie, it seems ....)

Anyway, Amita, can I step in with some advice about car manners?

If it's not your car and you're not driving - YOU DON'T GET TO PICK THE MUSIC!!!!

That annoys me when people do that when I'm driving, and then they try to guilt me into playing their music; it doesn't work for me, so Charlie needs to figure that out and be a real man and stand up to Amita, who really should have been riding in the trunk of the car - or strapped to the top of the car.

Secondly, does anyone seem to notice the fact that Charlie and Amita are starting to take first rank over Don?  I'm really getting sick of this.

And they've reached a new low with 'Amita vision.'  Not taking Larry's place, my ass.

----

On side notes, anyone know how it's the religious psychos who want others to die for them - but don't want to die for their own cause?  Koresh, Bin Laden ... the list goes on and on.

Also, I'm really starting to get a little sick of Charlie being brought in to solve everything the FBI should know how to do: GPS, computers ... and then he gets praised for it?  Why, oh why, are they ruining a good show?!

It has become somewhat obvious - to me, at least - that Amita has become so pointless that she's been reduced to being in every filler episode from here on.  The scenes that annoyed me the most were:

1) When she was talking to Charlie about his feelings and stuff.  To me, she was coming across as trying to be his personal psychologist, that she knew best, and Charlie needed to listen to her.  And then later on, when she and Megan were overhearing Charlie talking to NASA, that look Amita had seemed to convey "see, he listened to me, and things worked out; I'm responsible for this."

2) When Megan and Amita were talking by themselves and carrying on giggling and laughing like they were the best of friends ... they hardly know each other outside of work!

But of course, it's Amita, so it's okay to force her into everyone's lives when the girl has absolutely nothing left to offer - to ANYONE.

Other than Amita, the episode was great.

Okay, my feelings on the episode (including some stuff about when I started hating Amita):

I think a lot of "anti-Amita" people found Convergence to the the episode that turned them away from Amita, because they saw a glimpse at her true character.  Even IF she wasn't aware she was being played a pawn (which I highly doubt), she KNEW what Marshall was trying to do - she saw it - and then she had the audacity to say to Charlie's face that she wanted to concentrate on her academic career, yet she goes out with Marshall TWICE, AND she blabs stuff to Marshall about Charlie that she really had no business talking about it.  I was furious with Amita for doing all that, and from that moment on, I hated her.  I guess that makes me an irrational jealous person because she's with Charlie and I'm not, huh?

And on the subject of things coming easy, I have a high intelligence myself (nowhere near Charlie's, but still well above average), but I still have to work to accomplish things - and I'm 27.  Things do not come easy for me (even if my sister thinks so), and I can see where people would see Amita's comment about Charlie as insulting, even with my comments on another board about how I can see how Charlie can have such a perfectionist attitude about succeeding (we saw how he handles failure in Uncertainty Principle.)

I guess the thing that irked me is that she seemed to come across as 'I know Charlie better than you, Larry,' even though Larry's known Charlie for FIFTEEN YEARS.  That's what I've always hated about Amita - she's seen as the one who comes in and 'knows' the answer after a few seconds, when Larry and Charlie have been pondering the problem for days.

I just read a spoiler for the episode Nine Wives on another post. I don't know what the rules for spoilers are so I won't copy it. But it sounded bad for us. Tell me please what the rules are.

Thanks, Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Let us all have a moment of silence for the tragedy that occurred tonight.

....moment over. Rant away.

Is it me, or has it gotten just a little quiet here lately.  It's been almost three episodes since we've seen Blamita (she was in a little scene in 'Blackout,' but it was just one scene, so it was minimal), but seriously ... we haven't anything to complain about.  I miss ranting and raving about the skank with you guys.

Howdy all! I'm a brand new Numb3rs fan; truly, I've only been watching it for a week now, though I've seen five episodes thanks to Comcast Digital Cable's replay option. I somehow managed to not even hear of it for the first two seasons--I'm going to blame that on the fact that I rarely watch CBS, and I apparently live under a rock. I flipped over to it out of curiosity when I found out that Bernard from The Santa Clause (as I knew him by no other name at that point) was on a TV show, and now I'm quite hooked, on Numb3rs and on David. I found this community through a random interest search for DK's name, and let me just say...

THANK YOU.

Seriously, Amita has bugged me from the very first time I watched the show. At first I thought it was just because she was the romantic interest of the reason I'd tuned in to begin with and my disliking her was nothing more than immature jealousy, so I tried to ignore it, but her attitude toward Charlie was what really bothered me the most. Reading some of the posts here has only made me realize more of the reasons she's a lousy character. So glad to have found others who feel the same way. ^_^

Last night's episode suffered from a severe lack of Amita. The entire thing was boring and chalky and unsightly. I truly see now what it is exactly that she provides to the show: character, and substance and truth and love and caring for all things fluffy and small, and without her there it's just not the same! And--

Ah, who am I kidding. It was one of the better episodes this season thanks to Her Skankiness being exempt from the fun of solving the racetrack murders! (And we had Larry and Megan goodness! What's that? No Amita and oodles of my favorite couple?! Squees and joys and tumbles abound.)
